# Latest list of changes This changelog covers changes from 11th September 2026 to 18th September 2026 ## Rough stats Large chunk of files and folders from legacy website removed, many duplicates and gallery pieces - in particular the HK gallery, now organised in one folder by name of contributor. 4116 individual files removed, 168 folders removed from legacy and migrated - the most so far in one go New website exceeds 11k files - mostly images. Largest images by folder are; The Wellington Memorial Gardens (someone had a good camera taking hi-res images!) Followed by all current 'Stories' images Followed by Hong Kong image gallery - sheer volume Then the rest of the images (by a significant margin) ## What's been added ### Stories transferred or created #### features feature - 1968 ORBAT Nominal Roll - features\feature_fusiliers_nominal_roll.html - priority page added feature - Kitna - features\feature_kitna_price.html - priority page added feature - Jungle Warfare piece - features\feature_jungle_warfare.html feature - Hong Kong 1960's - features\feature_hong_kong.html - Requested #### stories stories - Albert McQuire - features\stories_albert_mcquire.html - priority page added stories - Albert McQuire by Bernard A. Boden - features\stories_albert_mcquire_1.html ### Page updates 10th Battalion page updates - Weeton, England, and Hong Kong added. Iserlohn also updated. More of Geoffs case studies, Captain Creer, Edward Taylor, Ivor Rees, Henry Middleton - features\geoff_pycroft\research.html Obituary - added Charles Fawcett as a placeholder potential idea for how the rest of the names will work. - The page was migrated 'as was' from the original but I personally think, looking through the legacy site I think it needs a redesign - Idea is to use an A-Z, then a table to display each persons feature or funeral document - Some of the people listed have feature pages - Some only have the funeral service booklet - Some of the pages have music, consideration on how to present ### New pages ## Anything else Glad I used Modals in the Ronnie Turner piece, as this allowed reuse for the Kitna piece ## Notes / Observations Update this week feels a little lighter, but consider that Kitna Price and Albert McQuire pages are quite feature rich, and have a number of modals attached. The Hong Kong gallery was a significant timesink this week too, organising over 1300 images. Emails - Lots of lose email addresses on the site, not good practice as bots scrape these and will send you spam - Removing these as I find them, and redirecting users to /About page, but these emails still exist on the legacy copy Corrupt files - Encountered some corrupt files within the legecy \music\obituary folder - these are labelled images from the obituary page, likely duplicated anyway, and hopefully not a common issue. ## Technical additions New CSS class; Hong Kong page; Added a contents section that allows the user to jump around the page a little easier in the gallery - simply due to the number of contributors and images on there New forum! - added a phpBB3 forum to the website, with a link in the header bar, Home page, the About page New fancier dontate button also added ## Bugs / Known Issues - New section for my benefit Minor navigational issue; When clicking a feature card that has an image, if you click the image then navigate BACK (using browser or button) - the image appears in the lightbox to the user Aesthetic modal issue; `feature-grid` is not central when used inside a modal, because it's not inside an article class. To be investigated and fixed.
